Goodman Good And Ready

The Georgetown Hoyas have accepted their first commitment from the Class of 2011. Jordan Goodman of Progressive Christian is off the board.

The Georgetown Hoyas are on the board in the Class of 2011. On Monday, power forward Jordan Goodman of Temple Hills (Md.) Progressive Christian, committed to the Hoyas.

"Coach David Cox is a big influence on my decision," Goodman said of the Hoyas assistant. "I'll be able to play for one of the top African American coaches out here."

Goodman settled in at Progressive Christian this season after transferring high schools. He plays AAU basketball with the D.C. Assault team out of D.C. Last week he visited campus unofficially and a few days later he committed.

"It was an unofficial visit to meet Coach John Thompson. I went and saw the campus and everything. When I see all the powers players people compare me too and then to see them have success coming from Georgetown did it for me."

Goodman is ranked the No. 7 power forward in his class and No. 34 prospect in the Class of 2011. Goodman indicated he had strong interest from Kansas State and Maryland.
