West Coast Shooter Draws Interest

Pierson Williams, a senior wing from Southern California, tells us he's hearing primarily from some West Coast schools...

Pierson Williams, 6-3 SR SG Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft, is having a very solid senior year and several programs have taken notice of the sharp shooting wing.

I spoke with Williams recently and he gave me an update on his recruitment.

"Marist, Cal Poly, UC Riverside, Northern Arizona and Montana State are the main ones," said Williams. "I just got a call from UC Riverside today and they said they were impressed with what they saw from me at the Crenshaw game. Montana State talked to me about visiting, but they're waiting on another player right now."

I asked Williams what he is looking for in a school.

"I'd like to be able to play early if I can and I want to play somewhere that they spread the floor, with maybe a dribble drive kind of offense," said Williams. "I don't really care about the location."

Williams said he has a 3.0 GPA and he hopes to set up some visits after his season ends.
