Jones Sticking To His Guns

Rumors have circulated that Terrence Jones may be close to making his college decision. According to his high school coach, there's still a ways to go.

Terrence Jones and Portland (Ore.) Jefferson will begin their quest for their third straight title this afternoon against Wilsonville.

While Jones and his teammates are focused on getting the 5A state championship, questions still surround Jones, Scout.com's No. 20 prospect in the 2010 class, and his recruitment.

"Nothing has changed with my man," Strickland told Scout.com just a few hours before their first round playoff game.

According to Strickland, Jones' list still sits at five -- Oklahoma, Washington, Oregon, UCLA and Kentucky. Jones has never mentioned a timetable at this point there still isn't one.

"It looks like he's sticking to his guns," Strickland said. "He may wait until the last day of the signing period. I don't have a clue where he's going either."

Over the past few weeks the schools involved have been in contact, but Strickland said none have been by to see him practice.

"They've been calling," Strickland said of the coaches. "They may be coming out for the tournament depending how they fair in theirs."

So why is Jones waiting so long to make his choice?

"I think it's a tough decision," he said. "He's making a tough decision. He just doesn't know."
