The nation's No. 1 center in the 2011 class took a trip to Miami (Fla.) to hang out with Isiah Thomas and visit Florida International
"It went good," Christmas told Scout.com. "It was a great atmosphere down there. I liked the school and the campus down there. It was really big. We went down to South Beach and saw the school."
Christmas, a standout at Bryn Athyn (Pa.) Academy of the New Church Boys, also had the opportunity to sit down with the 12 time NBA All-Star and learn more about Florida International's program.
"He's a nice guy," Christmas said. "He was talking about me coming in to help the team because they don't have any bigs so I would be a great pick up for that team."
"They are good people and they were talking about the good and negatives about if I were to go there," the 6-foot-9, 230-pound big man added. "They were open about everything and told me the truth."
Christmas, who doesn't have any more visits scheduled, visits Oklahoma the first weekend in March and said the two trips were quite similar.
"I didn't think there was much of a difference except the weather down there," the five-star prospect said. "They had more things to do."
Now Christmas, who is down to Oklahoma, Texas, Georgetown, Florida and FIU, is turning his focus to AAU ball. Teaming with Michael Gilchrist and Trevor Cooney on Team Final, Christmas is expecting a big summer.
"We are going to be really good," he said. "I'm not planning on losing any tournaments."
Team Final will tip off their AAU season in Hampton (Va.) at the Boo Williams Invitational.
