Prior to Rick Barnes' arrival at Texas, the Longhorns had signed just one McDonald's All-American – Kris Klack – in the history of their program. Houston (TX) Jones guard Daniel Gibson will have a chance to become the program's fourth since Barnes' arrival.

On Thursday according to our sources, the guard committed to Texas over Kansas, Oklahoma and Georgia Tech. He visited each of the schools this month and also was considering Arkansas though plans for an official visit fell through.

Gibson ran the show for the Houston Hoops team last summer when he played alongside Ndudi Ebi and Tack Minor. He's known for his long range shooting, ability to finish and create in the paint and has long been considered one of the elite level point guards in his class along with Shaun Livingston and Sebastian Telfair.
