Chandler and Louisville Part Ways

Michael Chandler is going to do some looking around. The talented big man says he's still committed to Louisville, but wants to be recruited.

Michael Chandler, a standout at Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North, and the University of Louisville have parted ways.

Friday morning we received an email from Allan Chandler, Michael's uncle, saying that his nephew had parted ways with Louisville.

When contacted on Friday, Chandler maintained that he was still committed to Rick Pitino and his staff, but that his family wanted him to look around.

"I mean I feel as though I'm still committed to Louisville," Chandler told Scout.com. "But I'm open for other schools to recruit me. Sort of like the Austin Rivers situation."

Chandler, a 6-foot-11 big man, said he doesn't have a list of schools at this point.

"My family wanted me to look around before I made a final decision," Chandler said.

Chandler, who is a top 15 prospect, does have some grade issues that will play into his recruitment.
