The 6-foot-7 power forward out of Melbourne (Fla.) Florida Air Academy followed his heart and made Billy Donovan a happy head coach. Yeguette averaged 15 points and 15 rebounds a game as a senior.
"It was my dream school," Yeguette said. "UF was my dream school. No matter what I do in life, I put my goals and dreams first. The other schools wanted me but I couldn't live with going somewhere else. No matter what happens, I know I'll follow my dream. That's why I went there."
Yeguette made a splash at last fall's Nike Team Florida Fall Showcase when he hauled in 50 rebounds in three games. Since then, the hard work and commitment to rebounding paid dividends.
"They see me as a 3-4 player. I can play both positions and they love the fact that I can rebound well. They love my energy, I want to compete and play hard. I do the things guys don't do and make the team win. I'm all about winning."
