Teague Makes The Call

One of the top recruits in the country -- Marquis Teague -- ended his recruitment on Thursday. Teague will play in the SEC.

The Marquis Teague saga has come to an end.

According to sources close to the situation, Teague, a 6-foot-2 point guard out of Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike, has his mind set on Kentucky and will announce for the Wildcats at his 1:30 press conference.

Although Teague has insisted that his list was down to five schools -- Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana, Purdue and Cincinnati -- it's believed that it ultimately came down to Kentucky and Louisville.

"Marquis Teague continues the ridiculous lineage of point guards under Calipari," Scout.com's National Recruiting Analyst Dave Telep said. "Once again, Cal will have the hardest guard in America to check."

Kentucky now has a pair of commitments in the 2011 class. Teague, Scout.com's No. 5 prospect, joins the top overall player Michael Gilchrist.

"If you could hand pick two guys from the Class of 2011 to begin a recruiting class with, half the people in the country would select Teague and Gilchrist," Telep said. "Anyone they get from here on out is a letdown."

Teague, a five-star prospect, averaged 16.3 points and nearly five assists during his junior season at Pike.
