Carlino Headed Back To The West Coast

Matt Carlino will make his way back to the west coast. The 6-foot-2 combo guard will play in the PAC-10.

Matt Carlino began his high school career in Arizona. After an early recruitment, Carlino gave Tom Crean and Indiana verbal commitment and moved to Bloomington (Ind.).

After backing off his commitment from Indiana a few weeks ago, the 6-foot-2, 170-pound combo guard has opted to make some decisions regarding his recruitment and his classification.

According to three independent sources, Carlino, who starred at Bloomington (Ind.) South this past season, will commit to UCLA. It's being approaching by all parties that Carlino will be available for the Bruins next season.

Last week Carlino visited Florida, but after gaining a commitment from Mike Rosario and the expected commitment of Scottie Wilbekin, the Gators opted to go in a different direction.

Carlino, a four-star prospect, averaged 13.3 points and just over four assists per game during his junior season.

Carlino is now the fourth member of UCLA's 2010 recruiting class. He joins five-star prospect Josh Smith, four-star standout Tyler Lamb and JUCO prosepct Lazeric Jones
