Fischer Pops For The ACC

Chase Fischer, a 2011 prospect, made his college decision. Originally a Marshall commit, Fischer opened up his recruitment and will now land in the ACC.

Chase Fischer is off the recruiting board again.

Originally a Marshall commit, Fischer backed off his verbal when Donnie Marshall left for Central Florida. After examining interest from a number of schools, Fischer decided he was ready to make his final decision.

Late Tuesday evening the 6-foot-3, 165-pound combo guard gave a verbal commitment to new Wake Forest coach Jeff Bzdelik.

"Yes I committed," Fischer said via text message.

Fischer, who also strongly considered Central Florida and a few other schools, said the ACC played a big role in his decision making.

"Just ACC basketball and I felt very comfortable with coach Bizdelik and coach [Jeff] Battle and the whole staff," Fischer said. "The academics [were good] as well. It was a perfect fit for me."

Fischer, a standout at Ripley (W.V.) High, is the Demon Deacons first commitment in the 2011 class.
