2011's Anderson To Big Ten

Tom Izzo scored his second recruit of the 2011 class on Wednesday. In-state guard Dwaun Anderson joined Brandan Kearney.

It didn't take long for Dwaun Anderson to make up his mind. During an unofficial visit to Michigan State, the 2011 shooting guard out of Suttons Bay in Michigan, committed to Tom Izzo.

"I was about 95% sure I was going to get the offer today," Anderson said. "When I told (Coach Izzo) I committed he was really excited, him and Coach Montgomery."

"He's extremely athletic and very fast. He has the mechanics to be a good shooter, and I think he will be," Norm Oden, Anderson's travel team coach said. "He's a lefty who can go strong with his right."

The 6-foot-4 Anderson was an all-state performer this past season. He averaged 20 points a game and had been to Michigan State prior to his commitment. Dayton was another program that had been recruiting him hard, according to Oden.

Anderson took his team to the title game in Class C this season. He had 16 points and 12 rebounds in a title game loss.

Besides Michigan State, Dayton, Michigan and Central Michigan were in the mix.
