Taylor Going Through Process

T.J. Taylor, a talented junior point guard from Northern California, is considering his options after making an early commitment to a WCC school...

T.J. Taylor, 5-9 JR PG Oakland (Calif.) High, made an early commitment to Santa Clara, but reconsidered his initial decision and is now hearing from a number of programs.

"There are a bunch of schools that have offered," said Taylor. "Santa Clara, of course, San Diego State, USF, Boise State and Weber State. I'm also getting interest from Arizona State, BYU and Colorado, along with some other ones."

Since Taylor originally committed to Santa Clara, I asked where the Broncos stand with him now.

"I'm still very interested in Santa Clara," said Taylor. "They're still recruiting me and they are a really good group of guys. They have some really good people over there."

I asked Taylor what he is looking for in a school.

"I'm looking for the best fit for me," said Taylor. "The level doesn't matter or the location. I'm just trying to find a place with a good education in case basketball doesn't work out for me. If I get hurt I want to still have a good degree. And I obviously want a good relationship with the coaches."

Taylor said he doesn't see himself deciding any time soon.

"I want to play through the summer and see what kind of offers I get," said Taylor.
