With Season Over, McClellan Takes Visit

Houston Milby's season ended a little earlier than star Jawann McClellan would have liked. However, the standout 2004 guard is keeping busy with his official visit.

Wildcats Host McClellan This Weekend

Houston Milby posted an impressive 30-6 record this season led by standout wing man Jawann McClellan. The 6-5 wing averaged 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He committed to Arizona prior to his junior year and the last time we saw him he weighed about 185. Not anymore.

McClellan is starting to really fill out his 6-5 frame and said that he's now up to 202 pounds. The added muscle led to a major improvement in one aspect of his game: defense. " I led the team in steals this season with 93," McClellan said. "I just wanted to use my long arms on defense."

McClellan is an all-state performer and won the MVP of his district and "that's with Tack [Minor]. I beat him out for district MVP."

This weekend, McClellan makes his way west for his official visit to Arizona. "I'm going down for the Oregon game. I'm very excited."

McClellan will play at the 2003 adidas ABCD Camp and run with David Salinas' successful Houston Select program this summer. He'll enter the spring ranked among the nation's Top 25 players in his class.

"My goal this summer is to play better than I did last summer. I don't get caught up in the rankings and stuff. My job is to do better than I did last summer. I can be more aggressive this summer. Last summer I had to share the spotlight. This summer my goal is to be more offensive minded."
