Vargas Will Play In The SEC ... Again

Eloy Vargas is headed back to the SEC. The talented big man committed to Kentucky over the weekend.

Eloy Vargas is back in the SEC.

During a visit to the University of Kentucky, Vargas, a 6-foot-10 post prospect, gave John Calipari and his staff a verbal commitment.

Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua played a big role in Vargas' recruitment.

"Eloy will be headed to Kentucky," Vargas former AAU coach Kenny Gillion said. "The biggest reason was Orlando and him feel its a good opportunity for him to come in and start."

Vargas, who was a four-star prospect when he came out in the 2008 class, also considered interest Seattle, Arizona and North Carolina.

The Miami-Dade Community College product joins Kentucky's star studded 2010 class, which also includes Brandon Knight, Enes Kanter, Doron Lamb and Stacey Poole.
