Hinds Rehabs, Plans Trips

Prior to going down with a severe ankle injury, Jabarie Hinds showed a much improved game. Now he's working to get back and planning some visits in the process.

Jabarie Hinds was on top of his game this spring, that is until he went down with an ankle injury.

At the Pitt Jam Fest especially, Hinds, a 6-foot, 160-pound floor general, was dicing up the competition, showing a terrific long range stroke, but also getting into the lane and creating for teammates.

"That's the bad thing about it," Hinds said about spraining his ankle. "I was playing really well."

Originally hoping to return this weekend for the Tournament of Champions, it looks like his return has been pushed back. At this point, Hinds is rehabbing trying to get his ankle back to 100-percent.

"My ankle is getting better now and I've been rehabbing," Hinds, who averaged 22 points a game as a junior, told Scout.com. "I go to rehab every day and I'm lifting weights everyday."

Ranked No. 47 overall in the class of 2011, Hinds has begun to gather scholarship offers. Currently Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Louisville, UNLV and Virginia have offered, with Villanova and UConn in the mix as well.

"I'm just taking it easy and I'm going to start taking visits," said Hinds. "I was going to take a visit to Villanova on Thursday but it was a dead period. I was going to go to Connecticut last Saturday."

"I'm most likely going to go to Villanova the second weekend of June," he said. "…This weekend I'm going to visit Wake Forest."

The Mount Vernon (N.Y.) High standout is a four-star prospect and rated No. 9 on Scout.com's point guard list.
