Education A Priority For Allen

Rosco Allen, one of the more skilled prospects in the class of 2012, is drawing early interest from some high majors...

Rosco Allen, 6-7 SO SF Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman, is a highly skilled young prospect. A very good shooter with three-point range, Allen can handle and pass the ball like a guard. He's started to fill out in the last year and he's now able to attack the basket off the dribble and finish inside. Allen also has a very good feel for the game. With continued development, he has a chance to be one of the elite prospects in the class of 2012.

I spoke with Allen recently and asked about the schools that have been recruiting him.

"Arizona, Stanford, UNLV, UCLA…those are some of them," Said Allen.

I asked Allen if he has a leader at this time.

"No, I'm open to everyone," said Allen.

When asked if he has a sense as to which school has been recruiting him the hardest, Allen replied, "UNLV has been showing the most interest. Arizona and UNLV have offered."

Allen said one factor will be most important to him when it comes to choosing a school.

"I want to go somewhere for four years where I can get a good degree," said Allen. "The location doesn't matter to me."

I asked Allen if he has a time frame for picking a school.

"I think sometime after my junior year," said Allen.

Allen said he currently has a 3.7 GPA.
