UVa Lands Point Guard
"He verbally committed," ACD coach Rex Morgan said. "He said that he was going to call them today and commit. They didn't see any problems but he's still got to go through admissions."
Virginia is on break this week and Bannister most certainly will have to go through admissions but barring any unforeseen complications, he's going to be a Wahoo.
Bannister averaged 21 points a game for Arlington Country Day this season. He visited Ohio a few weeks ago.
What This Means For UVa
With Keith Jennifer having played his last game in Charlottesville and Majestic Mapp still not healthy, the Cavs are clearly thin at the point. Next season you can probably expect veteran Todd Billet to man the point guard spot and Bannister will be given every opportunity to earn minutes spelling him.
"Virginia right now with Jennifer leaving is in dire need of someone who can play the point," Morgan said. "They're saying that they feel he needs to come in and play 15-20 minutes a game, break the press and distribute the ball."
