On Sunday the 6-foot-8 power forward out of Detroit (Mich.) Southeastern pulled the trigger for Brian Gregory's squad.
"They were one of the first schools to actually start recruiting me and it just felt like home," Gibson told Scout.com.
According to Gibson, his relationship with Gregory played a big role in his final decision.
"We are real close," he said. "He's just like a players coach. He seems like a great guy to play for."
Gibson, who visited Dayton during the season, also considered Southern California and Duquesne.
