Darrun Hilliard, who plays at Bethlehem (Pa.) Liberty and runs with the Jersey Shore Warriors, picked the Wildcats over a host of A10 and CAA offers.
"Basically he said he made his decision and its Villanova," Tony Sagona of the Jersey Shore squad told Scout.com. "It's a place that he was looking to go to for a long time."
Villanova incrementally ramped up its efforts with Hilliard over the summer. When the Wildcats offered, it didn't long for Hilliard to scoop it up.
"Jay Wright just offered him three days ago. They were at a lot of his games and Darrun had been up there a few times. They (Villanova) players kept telling him that he was pretty good. It was the proximity and the whole works. Jay Wright seals the deal whenever he gets involved."
