Holmes Open To Leaving West

Ryan Holmes, one of the better junior point guards in Arizona, gives us an update on his recruitment...

Ryan Holmes, 6-1 JR PG Goodyear (Ariz.) Millenium, told us yesterday that Colorado State, UConn and New Mexico are among the schools he's hearing from at this point in his recruitment.

Holmes told us that he's open to leaving the west. "Location isn't really a factor," said Holmes. "It'd be nice to stay close, but it's not a real issue."

We asked Holmes for his thoughts on the issues he'd consider when making his choice. "Education," said Holmes. "That and how the team is doing. Also, I'm interested in being an orthodontist, so how they are in that."

Holmes listed North Carolina as his dream school when he was younger. "Because of guys like Jordan and Vince Carter," said Holmes.

Holmes isn't sure when he'll make a decision. "I've been thinking about it and I don't know," said Holmes. "It could be in the fall or the spring next year."

Holmes told us that he has a 3.7 GPA and he'll take the ACT on April 12th.
