Schilb Still Looking Around

Brewster versatile forward Blake Schilb remains an unsigned standout. The native of Illinois took two official visits already, but he's still open.

Schilb Still Looking

Blake Schilb spent all of last spring playing a big role for the Ft. SOOY traveling team. The squad won a ton of games, even a few tournaments. Along the way, Schilb proved a valuable player.

He's the kind of guy who probably could find himself at as many as three different positions in a game. He just finds a way to chip in and get things done, he's one of those intangibles guys and that's why it's hard to believe he's still on the board.

"If I was a college coach, he'd be the first guy from our team I'd seriously look at," Brewster coach Jason Smith said. "He's so skilled."

Smith said that Schilb is fielding feelers from Loyola (Ill.), Bradley, Utah, Oregon State, Manhattan, Wichita State and Toledo; all of which have been consistent. Southern Cal even put in a call to him. He visited Loyola and Rhode Island early.

According to Smith, Schilb already has a qualifying ACT score and was B-student in the first trimester.

"I truly hope schools come in this spring to watch workouts, because he's definitely a kid who's going to have a great collegiate career."
