Xavier Closes Out Class

Jalen Reynolds took an unofficial visit on Wednesday and he saw all he needed to see giving an Atlantic-10 squad a verbal commitment.

Xavier closed out their recruiting class with a big man prospect on Wednesday.

Chris Mack and his staff picked up 6-foot-9 center prospect Jalen Reynolds, of Livonia (Mich.) Stevenson, shortly during a unofficial visit on Wednesday.

"I decided to go with Xavier because I talked to my mom and about it and she was behind me 100-percent," Reynolds said. "I told her how much I liked it and going around campus I could tell it really fit me."

According to Reynolds, who also considered Dayton, Providence and Michigan, the coaching staff played a major role in his decision.

"I love the coaching staff," Reynolds said. "They are all close to the same age and they can related to some of the stuff that I say. That's what I like about the coaching staff."

"Actually [Rasheen Davis], it's his first year here and I thought he was pretty cool," he added. "And definitely coach Steele. We have a great relationship and we are real cool."

Reynolds is the third 2011 high school prospect to commit to Xavier. He joins Dezmine Wells and Dee Davis. They also have a commitment from Travis Taylor, a transfer from Monmouth.
