At 6-foot-7 and 270 pounds, Smith is the last guy one would want to see coming at him with a big needle. However, his goal one day is to put folks to sleep while the doctor fixes them up. "I want to be an anesthesiologist," Smith said. "Both of the Ivy's are great for that. I've done a little research in Vanderbilt's medical program and they're strong as well."
Harvard gets to host Smith, an NBA Top 100 camp performer, first. Tommy Amaker's Crimson set a visit date of Sept. 17 with Smith. The following weekend, Smith is set to trip to Vanderbilt. Penn hasn't established its date yet.
Smith's a talented student and burgeoning post player. The size and tools are there. Once he turns up the intensity and becomes comfortable as a force in the paint, he's got a chance to have a strong college career. The next step is a collegiate decision and Smith isn't sure which way he'll lean.
"People ask me that a lot. It's going to be a very tough decision. I think it'll come down to what school will benefit me the most and provide me a great future. All of the schools can."
