Craig Austin Update
We had a chance to watch Craig Austin, 6-9 JR C Carlsbad (Calif.) High, yesterday in a workout with the Pump N Run team and we were impressed with his progress. Austin moves very well for a young big man and he's got nice hands and feet. Austin told us that Navy will be coming to his school for a visit and Utah called recently. He said he'll attend a camp at Utah during the summer. Austin stressed that he's still wide open. We asked about San Diego, one of the local schools for Austin. "They're high on my list," said Austin. "It's local, a good school and nice campus. They're losing Keep, so they'll need a center." Texas Tech, New Mexico and Oregon were other schools that Austin mentioned, but he made it clear that he's involved with several others. We asked what other factors he would consider and Austin said, "I'm looking at big man schools. What kind of coaching the big men get, who has come out of those schools and how they've done with their big men."
