The basketball Tigers gained separation in the final 10 minutes to beat Arkansas-Monticello 82-66 Monday night in front of 1,454 fans at the PMAC.
Charles Carmouche led LSU in scoring with 19 points while freshman Malik Morgan came off the bench with 18 points of his own in just 19 minutes played.
Perhaps the story of the night, though, was the fact that freshman guard Shane Hammink and starting point guard Anthony Hickey were suspended for the contest for, as first-year coach Johnny Jones described, "not taking care of their business."
Jones did say he expects both players back for Friday's season opener against UC Santa Barbara.
