Former Tide Point Guard Leads Utah Jazz

Maurice "Mo" Williams enters his 10th season in the NBA. The consummate point guard was a second round draft choice, 47th overall, of Utah in 2003. Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Clippers were other teams he rode on the roster carousel. A June 2012 trade brought him from the Clippers back to Salt Lake City, home of the Jazz.

‘BAMA Magazine/' met with the former Alabama star in "The Big Easy" prior to the Utah Jazz road game against the New Orleans Hornets . Maurice Williams,a Jackson, MS native, spoke about the decision to leave school early after his sophomore season, playing in the league and the Alabama program led by Anthony Grant.

Mo Williams joined with fellow Mississippian and Jazz teammate, Al Jefferson, to host a special group of 40-plus visitors connected with his foundation at the New Orleans Arena. Jazz Head Coach Tyrone Corbin commented about the newly acquired point guard during the pregame press conference.
