Open Practice: Michael Frazier

On the night before Florida faces Colorado in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Gator guard Michael Frazier talks preparation for Northwestern State, the team's mindset, and more..

On Friday, Florida will face Northwestern State in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Both teams had an open day of practice on Thursday, where Gators' guard Michael Frazier spoke with the media about the mindset of his team as they prepare for the tournament.

On being back at the tournament this year:

"We're very excited. We put in a lot of hard work during the season and it was our goal to make it and give ourselves the chance to win it all."

On looking at the NCAA Tournament as redemption after losing to Ole Miss in the SEC Championship Game:

"No, that's behind us. This [the NCAA Tournament] is a new season. So we're focused on our game tomorrow, no question. We have to prepare for them [Northwestern State] coming out and playing their hearts out. We have to do the same."

On if preparation for this game is different than other games:

"No, but we do have a lot of respect for Northwestern State. We had a good practice today, we're focused, we just have to be ready to go tomorrow."

On what the biggest concerns are going into the game:

"Getting back in transition, we know they like to get out in the break. We also nee to take care of the ball, that's what coach has been stressing in practice. Just making smart plays, playing the right way and playing together, I would say."

No. 3 Florida vs. No. 14 Northwestern State tips off at 6:27 pm CST.
