Murphy Prepares for Minnesota

AUSTIN--Florida F-C Erik Murphy addresses the media the day before facing Minnesota in the third round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament...

One down, another to go.

The Gators' 79-47 victory over Northwestern State in Friday's second round NCAA Tournament game secured Florida a spot in Sunday's match up versus Minnesota.

Though practice was closed to the media and public on Saturday, F-C Erik Murphy gave a few thoughts on the tournament and on facing Minnesota.

On how Florida plans to match Minnesota's physicality:

"I wouldn't say that we are a physical team. We just have to play physical. We'll see how they are playing us, how they are guarding us, what's going on in the game and we'll make adjustments to everything.

"Obviously, we have to come out with a lot of energy and play physical. They are a Big Ten team; they are a physical team, so we have to match that."

On the importance of offensive balance against Northwestern State and also in going forward:

"It is always nice to have that [balance]. I wouldn't say it's overly important. I think we are really balanced and we share the ball asa team. When we have four or five guys in double figures it's nice, but really it is our defense. We've got to guard other teams."

The game is set to tip off at 5:10pm CST at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The winner of Sunday's third round match up will advance to the Sweet 16.
