Freshman April in walking boot

Indiana freshman center Jeremiah April was seen in a walking boot Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium before IU's football game against Indiana State.

April missed IU's entire foreign trip in Canada due to an ankle injury, and Indiana added forward Emmitt Holt to its 2014 recruiting class late to help bolster the front line.

I'm told by a source that the walking boot is being used simply as a precautionary measure for April. He worked out with the team last week and it got a bit sore afterward, according to the source.

Indiana has often used walking boots in a precautionary manner in the past, even if a guy was healthy and practicing. Noah Vonleh was often in one last year, and Hanner Mosquera-Perea has spent time in a walking boot during his two years at IU as well.
