PITTSBURGH – It wasn't always - or even often - pretty, but Butler (23-10) moves on to see another day in the 2015 NCAA Tournament after knocking out Texas (20-14) by the final of 56-48 inside CONSOL Energy Center.
The Bulldogs, seeded sixth in the Midwest Region, advance to the Round of 32, where they'll play in-state foe Notre Dame on Saturday.
Senior guard Alex Barlow, who scored seven points and grabbed eight boards while playing a team-high 39 minutes Thursday, addressed the media after the game. He touched on a number of topics, including how Butler survived an extended scoring drought and getting by without Roosevelt Jones for a chunk of the second half.
Barlow also gave his first impressions on playing the Irish in two days.
