JUCO Safety Decides On Baylor

It was down to two Big 12 schools, but for this JUCO defensive back, Art Briles and the Baylor coaching staff was exactly the fit he was looking for. Come inside to find out who the next Baylor Bears commitment is.

Josh Wilson, a 6-1 195 safety out of Kilgore Junior College (Tx.), narrowed down his college choices to Iowa State and Baylor. After a weekend trip to Waco to see the Baylor campus, Wilson decided to give his pledge to Art Briles and the green and gold.

"When I went down there, it was just felt like home. It was a great atmosphere, and Coach Norwood and I have a great relationship," said Wilson.

Wilson will come in as a qualifier and plans to enroll at Baylor in January to go through spring practice.

"They think I can make an immediate impact," Wilson says. "They think I can come in with Byron Landor leaving, and they have been comparing me with him, but they say I have more speed."

Wilson explains he will have 2 years to play 2 years at Baylor, and that the idea that Baylor is headed to a bowl game was a big reason why he chose the Bears.

"The bowl game was a really big factor," said Wilson. "It was between Iowa State and Baylor, and with Baylor going to a bowl game it was big. I am planning on being down there for that."

The first day junior college players are allowed to sign letters of intent is December 15th.
