"Right now, I am honoring my commitment," said 4-star recruit Quincy Russell.

The 6'3" 285-pound defensive tackle from San Antonio Sam Houston High School is committed to the Texas Longhorns. However, earlier this week, longtime Longhorns defensive coach Duane Akina left the Longhorns to take a position with the Arizona Wildcats. How has the departure affected Russell?

"Since coach Akina has left, I am getting calls from all of the Texas schools," Russell stated.

Russell, the 13th-best defensive tackle in the country, explains that as of right now, he is not expecting to take any visits before signing day. As for what Russell is looking for on the next level?

"I am looking for the best coaching possible. I want to become better, and I want to be well-prepared to play in the NFL."
