Drew decided to change it up against the Cowboys, starting J'Mison Morgan instead of Quincy Acy. The move paid off, with Morgan taking a charge on the OSU's opening possession. However, Baylor was unable to do anything offensively early in the game, falling behind 11-5 early on.
Baylor and OSU then continued to trade blows through much of the first half, with the Bears coming up with defensive stops, but then turning the ball over on the next possession. Baylor closed out the half with a 16-5 run, putting the Bears ahead of OSU 36-26.
Baylor continued their hot streak in the second half, never letting the lead dip below 8 points. Freshman standout Perry Jones led the Bears with 24 points, including 10/12 from the free throw line. The Bears shot 36 free throws, but only made 24 of them throughout the game. Senior LaceDarius Dunn added 16 points, going 3/5 from the three-point line. Acy resumed his role from last season, coming in off the bench and providing a spark for the Bears off the bench. Acy had 14 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The most impressive aspect of the game came on the defensive end for Baylor. The defense held OSU to only 39.2% from the floor. Long-range threat Keiton Page played all 40 minutes, but only had 7 points and leading scorer Marshall Moses, who came into the game averaging 16.5 points per game, was held was held to only 1 point in 11 minutes.
The Bears have a shot at redemption after last week's Big Monday disappointment as they make their second appearance in a row against a struggling Kansas State squad in Manhattan.
