College of the Sequoias defensive back K.J. (Kenny) Morton will sign his letter of intent on Wednesday to play for the Baylor Bears. Morton, a 5-foot-11, 180 pound defensive back is taking his talents to the Big 12 and will have 3 years to play.
"It felt like home," Morton said of Baylor University. "I liked the facilities, I hit it off with the coaches real well, I liked the atmosphere, and I think it will help me reach my goals on the next level."
Morton explains that current Baylor Bears defensive back, Prince Kent, did a good job in making Morton feel comfortable on his visit. Both Kent and Morton are originally from the state of Georgia.
Morton, who sports a 4.39 forty, played both the cornerback and safety positions at College of the Sequoias. Morton explained he has the ability to do both, and has had success doing both.
"I think I can bring a certain kind of leadership to the team because I can play anywhere in the secondary. I can play corner, and I can play safety," said Morton. "I just really feel like I can help the team."
