The Baylor Bears were successful in keeping local talent local. Midway High School defensive lineman Beau Blackshear signed with Baylor this morning.
"I just really liked all the coaches, and I liked the new coaches they brought in," said Blackshear about his decision to sign with Baylor. "I am excited about the guys I get to play with, and I am excited to meet with and create a bond with the new guys."
Blackshar explained that he was able to meet with new Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett and the visit went well. In addition to Bennett, Blackshear was also able to meet the other two coaching additions to the staff.
Blackshear chose Baylor over several other schools including TCU, and said this about the last two weeks of recruiting.
"I told the coach at our school that handles all of the recruiting from the beginning that I am locked into Baylor. And when I locked into Baylor, that was it."
