Baylor's Big Draft Night

Baylor had another great night as two Bears were chosen in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday night.

For the second year in a row, two Baylor Bears were chosen in the first round of the NFL draft. Robert Griffin III was selected 2nd overall by the Washington Redskins. The Redskins made a blockbuster trade up to the second spot to select Griffin as their franchise quarterback.

With Griffin long expected to be the 2nd pick, the big question going into the night was where Wright would go. Wright was the third wide receiver selected behind Justin Blackmon of Oklahoma State and Malcolm Floyd of Notre Dame.

Wright steps into an offense with some young talented players. With 2nd year quarterback Jack Locker still growing into the position the Titans decided that he needed more weapons around him. Wright will join Nate Washington and Kenny Britt as the main wide receivers on the roster. Britt is coming off of a major knee injury, however the Titans expect him back for the beginning of the season.

This is the 5th first round draft choice from Baylor the past 3 years, after having none draft since 1996 and only In 2011 it was defensive tackle Phil Taylor and guard Danny Watkins. In 2009, it was tackle Jason Smith drafted 2nd overall.
