Player Spotlight: Donald Bryant

All summer long leading up to the opening kickoff for the Baylor Bears, BearsIllustrated.com will spotlight players on the 2012 Baylor football roster.

Player Spotlight—Donald Bryant

Daingerfield High School product Donald Bryant red-shirted his freshman year for the Bears. The 6'2" 270 pound defensive lineman was a Scout.com 3-star prospect that played both interior offensive line and defensive end for his high school. Baylor was Bryant's first offer and the talented lineman committed to the Bears and never wavered.

Projection:

As a redshirt freshman, Bryant will likely not be a starter this 2012 season with returning starters at defensive end Terrance Lloyd and Gary Mason Jr returning. Bryant will get his shot though and must produce in the reps that he does get. He is part of a defensive class that Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett had a big part of bringing into Baylor, so Bryant will definitely have his shot at getting big time minutes, it just may not be until next season.
