Player Spotlight—Kedrick Dial
As part of the 2010 Signing Class for Baylor, Kedrick Dial was ranked a 3-star defensive end prospect by Scout.com. Coming out of of Sulphur Springs High School, Dial held offers from Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. Dial was an All-State defensive lineman as a senior in high school.
Dial is up to 6'3" and 220 pounds. He fits in better it seems as a weak-side defensive end, but has the ability to run in space rather well too. He is a tall and long athletic player that continues to build strength and fill into his frame. Dial needs to stay healthy in 2012 to make a run up the depth chart that has two returning starters at defensive end for the Bears. Dial will be a major player for the Bears, but it may have to wait another season for him to make an immediate splash on the defensive side of things. He should see playing time this season and he needs to impress Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett to receive more of it.
