Ranthony Texada, a 5'9" 160 pound cornerback from Centennial HS (Frisco, TX) visited on Sunday during one of Baylor's summer mini-camps to visit with the coaching staff and tour the facilities.
The Class of 2013 defensive back is definitely an under-the-radar prospect, picking up his first BCS program offer just a week ago. As previously reported by Erin Hartigan, Texada was offered by Baylor last week. Since then, several other BCS programs have offered, and Texada is up to 16 offers.
"Baylor is pretty high on my list," Texada said, "I really liked what I saw. The thing that I liked the most was how much the place is improving: the facility and campus, also the new stadium they are building."
Texada will also be visiting Mississippi State, Iowa State, Iowa, and "maybe Illinois". When asked about a time frame for deciding on his commitment, Texada suggested, "I most likely want to commit by the end of the summer".
