Meet the Bears Pictures

The BearsIllustrated staff was at the Meet the Bears scrimmage. Join us inside to get the best look at the action.

On Saturday, the Bears did their annual Meet the Bears event, which includes a practice, a scrimmage, and an autograph session with the Bears. We have given you our opinions on the action and some descriptions of what we saw, but no images yet. Well here they are!

Chris Johnson got quite a bit of time later in the scrimmage as the third team offense took on the third team defense.

The freshman signal caller had an and down scrimmage, as he struggled with being comfortable in the pocket, but showed the size, arm strength and athleticism that made him a highly coveted prospect.

There were also a pair of true freshman that got some time at the wide receiver position throughout the scrimmage. You might have heard of them. Quan Jones and Robbie Rhodes.

Rhodes caught the longest pass of the day for the second team offense, showing his speed by getting past Ahmad Dixon.

Several safeties got a chance to play with the first team defense, with Orion Stewart and Patrick Levels playing well together at times.

The first team defense dominated the second team offense for most of the day, as we see Sam Holl cover redshirt freshman Kaleb Moore.

In the end though, it was a beautiful while hot day for the Bears, but you could see them building towards a big year. Just like you could see the future home of the Bears in the distance.
