Three years ago, the Baylor crowd stormed the field after a Homecoming Day win against Kansas State. On that day, Baylor won its 6th football game of the season and obtained bowl eligibility for the first time in 16 seasons.
Last night, things were different. It was Baylor Homecoming. Baylor won the game. Baylor became bowl eligible once again by getting to 6 wins on the season. But there was no storming of the field. There is a greater goal for this year's Baylor football program. Bowl eligibility is always nice. But for a team not that will be going to 4 straight bowl games, many of the players don't know what it feels like not to go to a bowl game.
Saturday's 71-7 rout of Iowa State not only assured the Bears will again play in the post-season, but it also allowed a lot of the nation's voters to see just how good Baylor is.
