Left for dead after a 2-8 start in Big 12 play, the Bears rallied like few teams possibly could and with their run to the Big 12 championship, earned a 6-seed in the NCAA tournament. The Bears will take on former Big 12 conference foe Nebraska, who is making their first NCAA appearance since 1998-99, when they lost in the first round.
In fact, the Cornhuskers are 0-6 in their trips to the NCAA tournament, and still looking for their first win.
Even more important than the opposition for the Bears is that they will just have to go 3 hours to their southwest to San Antonio for their regional. this was a tremendous best-case for the Baylor team and fans.
The other team in their bracket is 3rd seeded Creighton, featuring National Player of the Year Doug McDermott. They will face off against University of Louisiana-Lafayette, who won the Sun Belt championship to secure that conference's automatic bid.
