Hasty Verbals To Baylor

The Baylor Bears received their 6th commitment, when Longview (TX) product JaMycal Hasty committed to the Bears. BearsIllustrated was able to catch up with the newest commit to get his thoughts.

JaMycal Hasty has long been considered a Baylor lean. On Saturday, the 5'8, 185 lb RB ended all of the speculation and became the 6th commitment of 2015 for Coach Art Briles and the Baylor Bears.

BearsIllustrated was able to catch up with Hasty and get his thoughts on his commitment. "I love the program! Coach Briles is great, along with a great staff! They're always bouncing around and you can see the passion in the players and coaches!"

Hasty, who plays for powerhouse Longview (TX) Lobos, is known for having break away speed. While training at the APEC facility in Tyler (TX), with Coach Bobby Stroupe, Hasty was timed in the 40 at 4.31, but turned heads at the Army All-American combine when he laser timed a 4.28. Bears fans are no stranger to speed, after seeing Lache Seastrunk run through Big 12 defenses the past two years, and Hasty will add that speed dynamic that makes the Baylor offense so dangerous.

In closing, Hasty had this to say about being a part of the newly crowned Big 12 Champs, "I feel like the offense is a great fit for me and Baylor is headed in a good direction all around!" Keep it tuned to BearsIllustrated as we discuss the newest commitment and what it means to the 2015 class!
