Humphrey Makes #7 for the Bears!

League City (TX) Clear Falls HS standout, John Humphrey, gives his verbal commitment to Baylor, which gives the Bears 7 commitments for the 2015 class.

It has been a whirlwind month for John Humphrey. After his visit to the first Baylor Junior Day, rumors began to swirl that the League City (TX) Clear Falls HS speedster had committed to the Bears. "I just felt like I was at home. I wanted to commit, but I wanted to talk to my parents first. I wanted them to be happy with my decision." Humphrey quickly put an end to those rumors and released a top 5 list.

Well after a great showing at the Houston NFTC camp last week, Humphrey put an end to his recruitment by committing to Coach Art Briles and the Baylor Bears. "I always knew that Baylor was where I wanted to be. I like the way they push their players, but most importantly I like how they keep up with the players and their grades."

Humphrey says that he is being recruited as an athlete, by Baylor. However, Humphrey's speed and size is something that Coach Phil Bennett and DB Coach Carlton Buckles look for in their Corners. He says, though, that he isn't concerned about what side of the ball he plays. "They are recruiting me as an athlete. They have told me that I will start out at DB, but I think I will get a shot at WR. I'm not worried about where I play though. I just want a chance to play early." He says he thinks he can help out at WR, by giving Baylor that blazing speed up the seam, that Baylor fans were accustomed to seeing by Tevin Reese.

Humphrey becomes commitment #7 for the Baylor Bears joining QB Chad President, ATH Blake Lynch, RB JaMycal Hasty, WR Devontre Stricklin, OL Maurice Porter, and DE Louis Brown.

One thing is for sure, the Bears have added another quality athlete with blazing speed to a class that is full of great athletes. Keep it tuned to BearsIllustrated as we bring you the latest in Baylor recruiting and Athletics.
