Baylor Fall Depth Chart

The Baylor Bears have released their fall depth chart and there are a couple of changes from the spring.

Today the Baylor Bears released their depth chart going into the season, and there are some notable additions as well as a couple of changes from the depth chart released in the spring.

First off, there were three true freshman added to the depth chart, K.D. Cannon, Davion Hall, and Chance Waz. Cannon is listed as Corey Coleman's backup along with Clay Fuller who is out for at least 6 weeks. Coleman's status for the first game is also in doubt (Hamstring), so Cannon might get his first Collegiate start sooner rather than later. Hall is listed behind Antwan Goodley, while Chance Waz is listed behind Terrell Burt. While injuries and the dismissal of Robbie Rhodes earlier this summer seem to have opened the door for the talented freshmen Hall and Cannon to play this season, Waz seems to have played his way onto the field with his play during camp this summer.

Other notable changes include that Javonte Magee is now listed as co-starter with Andrew Billings at Nose Tackle and the backup to Shawn Oakman at Right End. Ryan Reid jumped Terrence Singleton at Cornerback, opposite of Xavien Howard. This might not mean much, as the Bears have used a three man cornerback rotation in past years, and Singleton is listed as the backup for both cornerback positions. Also, Tre'Von Armstead and Gus Penning are no longer listed as co-starters, as Armstead is now listed as the starter and Penning his backup.

There were position battles at Weakside Linebacker, Nickelback, and Right Guard going on in camp, this depth chart tells us who won them. Aiavion Edwards is listed as the starting Weakside Linebacker, as he was able to hold off Taylor Young during camp. Also, walk-on senior Collin Brence was able to hold off Patrick Levels and Travon Blandhard at the Nickelback position. Blanchard is listed as his backup. Blake Muir and LaQuan McGowan, however, are still listed as co-starters for Left Guard, as neither were evidently able to distance themselves from the other in camp. The Bears might platoon the position between the two.

On Special Teams, due to the injuries of Fuller and Coleman, Johnny Jefferson and Antwan Goodley are listed as the starting kick returners. It was never said that Fuller and Coleman would fill those spots, though they were the ones expected to do so before their respective injuries.
