Depth Chart - Baylor vs. Iowa State

Let's take a look at the Depth Chart for the Baylor Bears week-5 game against the Iowa State Cyclones and how it could get a little bit healthier after the bye-week.

The Baylor Bears will take on the Iowa State Cyclones this Saturday evening. After battling injuries in the wide recevier ranks in the first three games, the Bears are starting to get a little healthier. Senior All-American Antwan Goodley and Sophomore Corey Coleman should both be back in the lineup, while Clay Fuller could also possibly be back. It looks like Levi Norwood will be at least one more week with his wrist injury. The Bears should also be welcoming back Devin Chafin, who has missed the last few games with an ankle sprain.

Defensively, the Bears will roll out the same starting lineup as they have shown all season. Baylor has had no significant injuries on the defensive side of the ball, and has done a great job of rotating its 2nd string to keep the starters fresh. This is best seen on the defensive line, with Javonte Magee and Byron Bonds getting extensive playing time. The defensive backfield has not seen any changes either, though sophomore Ryan Reid did struggle against Buffalo. Backup Terrence Singleton might be in line for more playing time if he can stabilize that position opposite of Xavien Howard.

The Bears should probably still be without the services of punt returner Levi Norwood, so this should be Cal Spangler's third start in a row at that position. He has filled in safely, returning just 3 kicks for 6 yards. He has fair caught five of the 8 punts he has fielded. Simply put, he is giving the Bears offense the ball wherever he can. Levi Norwood is one of the most dangerous return men in the Big 12, so Norwood's return will give this unit a boost.

The other position to watch here is kicker, as freshman Chris Callahan is just 1-5 on his field goals this year, with his one making coming from 23 yards out. Pretty much, every non-chip shot has been missed by Callahan. The backup is Kyle Peterson, who has the bigger leg of the two, and is the primary kick-off specialist.
