Montrel Wilson Talks Baylor Visit

BearsIllustrated caught up with 2015 Keller (TX) Fossil Ridge Safety prospect Montrel Wilson to discuss his recent Official Visit to Baylor

BearsIllustrated caught up with 2015 Keller (TX) Fossil Ridge Safety, Montrel Wilson, to get the latest after his official visit to Baylor on Saturday. Wilson, once committed to Baylor, is still considering the Bears, among others.

--- You were once committed to Baylor. What led to you deciding to decommit?

Baylor is a real good school. It’s still one of my favorites, but I just wanted figure things out.

--- What other schools are you seriously considering? And do you plan to take other Officials?

Right now I’m hearing from Baylor, TCU, Arkansas, and Illinois. Baylor, TCU, and Arkansas are my favorites. Illinois, I haven’t talked to them in a while, so they are under those three. I have an official to TCU on December 12th. Arkansas, I’m looking to take my official after New Years.

--- Who is recruiting you from Baylor and what is your relationship like with that Coach?

Coach Gush is the coach recruiting me. He’s a real cool guy. I was able to talk to him on Saturday and Coach Bennett. They’ve talked to me about playing Safety or the Bear position. To me it doesn’t matter where I play.

--- So you took your official to Baylor this past Saturday. What were you looking for that would have made this trip a success in your eyes?

Nothing specific. I hadn’t been to a Baylor game this year. The stadium is nice! The atmosphere was great. I was able to meet some of the players and see what they do everyday.

--- What did you think about Baylor winning back-to-back Big 12 Championships?

Oh it’s real good. It shows that their program is consistent. The visit put Baylor at the top for now. The visit answered a lot of questions for me.

Wilson plans to decide on his school of choice after his official visit to Arkansas in January. Keep it locked at BearsIllustrated as we bring the latest in Montrel's recruitment and Baylor recruiting in general, as Baylor looks to close out it's 2015 class strong.
