“Coach Kendall Briles came down to Houston during the playoffs. At the time I had no idea who he was, but he told me that I played well. That was after the Manvel game when we were preparing for Cibolo (Steele). He came down and gave me a pass to Junior Day and we started talking more and more. We stayed in contact on a weekly basis, a few messages here and there.”
After Junior Day Fisher starting hearing from linebacker’s coach, Coach Gush who was the one who gave Fisher his second Big 12 offer that Fisher was speechless about when asked about it.
“It was really eye opening. It was just…crazy.”
What shocked Fisher the most is that he never saw his Baylor offer coming so soon.
“I thought it was going to come a little later in the spring. I went up there for Junior Day and their coach told me to come up March 20th and I figured maybe then it would come. It came sooner than I expected.”
Fisher says he still hears a lot from Baylor and is now starting to hear from LSU and Houston.
“On Monday I plan on visiting Houston to take a look at their campus as well as their facilities. Then in March I’ll be back up at Baylor.”
As spring practices start Fisher looks to improve on his speed that should give him a lot more looks and offers. As we see with many recruits, with D1 offers comes more D1 offers. Fisher is well on his way to adding even more big time offers to his list if he keeps playing like he has in the past.
“I’m a player who can make plays and I’m always in the right place at the right time. I have a very supportive family that pushes me to be better every day.”
Make sure to keep it right here with BearsIllustrated for more updates on Fisher and Baylor recruits as we head into spring practices and into next season.
