Beck Looking To Improve

BearsIllustrated caught up with 2017 standout, Adam Beck, to talk spring plans and recruiting.

In recruiting, all recruits are looking for is an opportunity. An opportunity to showcase their skills and maybe catch the eye of major programs and who what type of impact they can make on their team.

Adam Beck is a recruit who is trying to do just that. The rising Junior is looking to make an impact in the fall. The 6'2, 180 lb CB recently transferred to Richmond (TX) George Ranch HS from Richmond (TX) Travis HS this spring, and will work to make his talent known when he takes the field.

Beck has been working with Alonzo Ford, brother of former Missouri RB Henry Josey. "We have been working a lot on my footworrk a lot. Footwork is very critical and also building endurance and stamina," Beck said. "I'm tall, long, and very physical, so doing the small things will help a lot. I'm really trying to improve my off man coverage, so that it is as good as my press coverage."

Outside of training with Alonzo Ford, Beck says that he enjoys playing other sports. "My body is still maturing. I'm working out with the track team. I'm not doing any track meets, but working with track helps to maintain and increase my speed. It's important that I play other sports. Next year I'm planning to play basketball as well! Feel like the more the better."

While signing day for the 2017 class is still just under 2 years ago, Beck has started to hear from some Power 5 Conference programs. "I have been keeping tabs with Coach Thibedeoux, from Kansas, and Coach Walters, from Colorado. I've gotten some mail from Vanderbilt and Baylor already. I'm planning on trying to go on some visits very soon." What schools is Beck looking to visit? "I know Baylor for sure. They are one of my top schools. I'd also like to visit Texas A&M and Oregon.

Beck will be one to watch, as the 2017 class begins to be evaluated. Keep locked to BearsIllustrated for latest on Adam Beck and all things Baylor Recruiting and Athletics!
