“It was really nice. I liked it,” Jones said. “We got to see the facilities, training room, and the coaches office. We got to see everything. Their offense was real fast paced. I like the way they run it. It’s not complicated. It’s very simple.”
Offensive Coordinator, coach Kendal Briles, has been recruiting Jones and speaks a lot with the Stafford football coach who also happens to be Jones’s father. Jones said Kendal Briles had been in contact with them a lot and then offered Jones at the end of January which Jones didn’t see coming.
Baylor seems to be high on Jones’s radar at the moment, as he loves the way the coaches interact with their players.
“I like that they communicate a lot with their players as a mentor. They act like another father to them. They are just great and inspirational people to have in life.”
As Jones heads into his junior year he looks to improve on his rout running and blocking. I expect great things from this receiver next season, as he is one hard working kid with a need for more.
“I just have a chip on my shoulder. Every time I get on the field I just want to be the best,” Jones said. “I just want to be successful in life.”
It looks like Jones has already been pretty successful lately, not only in football but track as well. He recently won the 100 in his last track meet and has around five meets left.
Jones says his recruitment is moving pretty fast now. He’s starting to hear from other colleges such as UCLA and USC and will be taking a trip to California on April 10th. Jones has no plans to visit any other schools as of now.
